Backpack School Supplies Ministry which supports children from Ada Jenkin's LEARN Works and the Neighborhood CARE Center is gearing up for the new school year. This year we will be serving 220 students from kindergarten to 5th grade from local elementary schools - all in need of a backpack filled with school supplies. Here are three ways you can help:

SHOP! DONATE! VOLUNTEER!

• Shop for supplies - The school supplies listed below have been specifically requested by the school system and need to exactly match the brand, number or count, or other specifications. Please note that backpacks are not on the list - they have already been donated! We have two shopping options:
• In Person: Shop in person for any of the supplies you'd like to donate -please note that it is not necessary to purchase the complete list.

NEW THIS YEAR - Target Wish List: Visit this link to be directed to the Mt Zion UMC Backpack School Supplies list. Again, it is not necessary to purchase the complete list. Wednesday, July 30th, is the last day to order from the Target wish list.

Please deliver all school supplies to the church by Sunday, August 1st. You may also bring your supplies after office hours and place in the black box/yellow lid located outside the office doors.

Donate - If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please make your check payable to Mt. Zion and write "School Supplies" in the memo line and we'll do the shopping for you! The cost for one student is approximately $80. We will again be supporting the teachers (who pay for many classroom items using their own funds) by supplying additional classroom items. Please have your donation to the church office by Wednesday, August 6th.

Volunteer - To pack the backpacks on Thursday, August 7, at 10am in the upstairs Ed. Bldg.
