HIS ministry was created to promote awareness, inclusion, accessibility, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
HIS volunteers are dedicated to developing, facilitating and ensuring spiritual programming, fellowship opportunities, and loving support for individuals with special needs and their families in addition to the programming and opportunities Mount Zion United Methodist Church offers.
HIS ministries offered on the Mount Zion United Methodist Church campus include:
11:00am Every 3rd Sunday, in the Youth Room of Mt. Zion's Family Life Center (Beginning September 2017)
The Feast offers an alternative worship service in addition to our regularly scheduled worship experiences. This 20 minute service includes a shorter, simpler devotion with increased musical and involvement opportunities, and always includes communion. Everyone is welcome at His table! Serving opportunities (ushering, choir, etc.) for everyone is encouraged. Pre-registration is not required.
A Place For Us
11:00am every Sunday in Mt. Zion's Conference Room, located on the back hall of the church offices. (Beginning in October 2017)
A Place for Us is a quiet dedicated space designed for use when an individual/family is present on the church campus but is unable or prefers not to attend or remain in a designated worship service. This space allows the family to remain on campus and continue worship (via live-streaming on a laptop provided) without the stress of physically remaining in the larger groups setting. Preregistration is not required. First come/first served.
Agape Sunday School
9:45 am every Sunday in Room 2 of Mt. Zion's Family Life Center
