Special Needs "HIS Ministry"

His ministry was created to promote awareness, inclusion, accessibility, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.

His volunteers are dedicated to developing, facilitating and ensuring spiritual programming, fellowship opportunities, and loving support for individuals with special needs and their families in addition to the programming and opportunities Mount Zion United Methodist Church offers.

His ministries offered on the Mount Zion United Methodist Church campus include:

Agape Sunday School

9:45 am every Sunday in Room 2 of Mt. Zion's Family Life Center

Agape Sunday School is a sensory friendly classroom designed for Middle and High School students in need of a modified curriculum and low stimulation area. Mainstream Sunday School classes are available for ages 3 years old and up and everyone is welcome.  We also provide Special Needs Childcare in the nursery during all Sunday morning activities.  Because of our desire to minister to every family, we ask that you contact the Children’s Ministry team at 704-892-8566 to discuss your child’s specific needs.  Every 5th Sunday we try to schedule youth attendance to encourage/facilitate friendships. Pre-registration is not required.
