“When in our music, God is glorified."
The Music and Arts Ministry at Mt. Zion seeks to provide opportunities for all ages to offer their artistic gifts, develop their skills, and grow together in faith through rehearsal, fellowship and worship.
We have a wide array of music for children. There is an opportunity for children of all ages to get involved in music. In Babygarten infants and their caregivers share nursery rhymes, songs, and books. We also have three different children's choirs that practice and learn music at different levels. All three groups help lead music in worship at various times throughout the year. There are also music camps during the summertime. Go to the infants and children music and art page to learn more specifics and how children can get involved.
Music opportunities continue as into middle school and high school with the Mt. Zion youth hand bell ensemble and Testify youth choir. In hand bells the youth will learn the fundamentals of ringing in a fun environment. They also play in worship throughout the year.
The Testify youth choir is a choir made up from youth throughout the community. They lead worship throughout the year at Mt. Zion and throughout the community. Click on the youth music and creative arts link to learn more about when the groups meet.
The adult music program at Mt. Zion continues to reflect the church's love for music at all ages. Adults and youth at Mt. Zion have the opportunity to help lead worship in the chancel choir each Sunday at the 11am traditional worship service. Adults and youth interested in leading more contemporary music can join the praise and worship team and lead worship each week at the 9:45 worship service. The adult hand bell ensemble frequently plays in worship. Special music is also frequently offered by various musicians and singers throughout all three worship services. Visit the Adult Music page to learn more about how to get involved with one of Mt. Zion's music ministries.
We Welcome You to Join Us!
We are always open to the leading of the Spirit, and we seek to make full use of the gifts of those among us. If you would enjoy participating in an ensemble that you do not see, we are eager to expand our offerings to match the gifts of our faith family.
