After only a few minutes with Tony you will experience his passion and excitement for the ministries of the United Methodist Church. He describes his role in ministry as Teacher/Equipper/Cheerleader, equipping and releasing the church for transformative ministry in the community and around the world. Tony’s areas of ministry emphasis are Congregational Care and Adult Faith Formation.
Before being appointed to Mt Zion Tony spent two years with the people of Salem UMC in Bostic, NC. Tony also enjoyed 4 years of ministry alongside the people of Nesbitt's Chapel UMC (Fairview). While attending Duke Tony spent 2 years in ministry with the people of Rehoboth (Henderson) and two years, first as an intern and then as Director of Christian Education and Pastoral Care for Mt Zion UMC in Hurdle Mills, NC. He is a graduate of Montreat College and Duke Divinity School.
Tony is a native of Louisiana, but has lived across the country. He is a US Marine, has worked in the oilfields off the coast of Louisiana, the restaurant industry and even ran away and joined the circus for a while. Tony met his wife Erin in Jackson Hole, WY. Erin is a Carolina girl, growing up in Asheville. They have two boys: Alex and Zach. The family enjoys hiking, ACC basketball and SEC football, an eclectic mix of music, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all they are excited to live and serve amongst the people of Mt Zion and Cornelius, sharing God's love through Jesus Christ.
